What started in 1948 with one pickup truck has evolved into a multi-brand organization leading the northeast in civil construction and associated services.
D.A. Collins Construction
Donald Agnew Collins started his construction company in 1948 in nearby Mechanicville, NY. From an office behind his mother’s kitchen and with the help of a family loan, D.A.’s one-truck construction business grew to earn the prestigious Thaddeus Kosciusko Bridge contract in 1957.
BUILDING BRIDGES
Those bridges commonly known as the “Twin Bridges” carries Interstate 87 over the Mohawk River to connect Albany and Saratoga Counties and was a major component of the Northway construction project.
It has become a renowned landmark in the historic landscape of the Capital Region, winning the Most Beautiful Bridge award from the American Institute of Steel Construction in 1960. For our company, it’s also a symbol of the true craftsmanship, hard work, and drive our company was founded on.
EXPANDING
In the latter half of the century, D.A. Collins began to expand into new markets. With the acquisition of Pallette Stone Corp.; Kubricky Construction Corp.; Jointa Galusha, LLC.; and D.A. Collins Environmental Services, LLC; we became a high-performing family of organizations to better serve our customers.
With our growing fleet and multi-faceted service offerings, our brands are poised to meet the needs of an ever-changing landscape.
WHY D.A. COLLINS COMPANIES?
Individually, our brands are known for some of the most recognizable and complex infrastructure projects in the country. While we primarily operate throughout New York, Vermont, and Eastern Pennsylvania, our headquarters in Wilton, NY is just minutes off I-87 in Saratoga County.
As we’ve grown, D.A. Collins Companies has stayed true to our roots, putting family, excellence, and integrity above all else.
